At the Grassroots Political Activist Kickoff Conference

JJ is at the Grassroots Political Activist (GPA) Conference in Springfield IL.  JJ has been the GPA for HCAFA and Region 42 for the last year and she is now entering her second year.  What does a GPA do?  GPA’s talk to legislators, set up meetings with them, educate the local unions in their region about political issues like GPO/WEP or Race To The Top (RT3), etc., as well as register people to vote (if the GPA is a registrar, JJ is one!), listen to member concerns in regards to political issues, and work with local leaders to create changes in the political landscape that are favorable for education.  That is just a little bit of what they do!  Interested in helping JJ out?  Interested in politics?  Drop her a line at deepforestowl@gmail.com
