HCAFA represents about 500 adjuncts at Harper College.  Collectively, we are strong and are able to use our voice to get better working conditions, wages, and respect.

Check out Calendar for when we have Board meetings.  All are welcome to attend!

There are many opportunities for involvement whether that is working on a local, regional, or even national level.  We welcome everyone who wants to become involved whether that is running social get togethers, sitting on a statewide committee, or attending a training.

Joining HCAFA is an important way to support the efforts we have made on behalf of all adjuncts at Harper College.  Our second contract brings several important benefits beyond the pay raise such as a guarantee of at least one class a semester for adjuncts in the union and professional development money.

Joining HCAFA is a simple matter of filling out a brief form and returning it to Janice Cutler, the HCAFA membership records person.  The form can not be filled out online.  When you are eligible, at the start of your 4th consecutive semester of teaching at least 3 hours per semester, you will receive a packet from us.  If you don’t, please email Janice at treasurer@harperadjuncts.org or send her a note through campus mail.  Janice is in the Math Dept.

We strongly encourage Payroll Deduction.  Dues are taken out once a semester.

We are only as strong as our members.  Join us!  Get involved!  You’ll make new friends and we’ll help each other!
