HCAFA represents about 500 adjuncts at Harper College. Collectively, we are strong and are able to use our voice to get better working conditions, wages, and respect.

There are many opportunities for involvement whether that is working on a local, regional, or even national level. We welcome everyone who wants to become involved in any way to support our organization.
Joining HCAFA is an important way to support the efforts we have made on behalf of all adjuncts at Harper College. Our contracts bring important benefits beyond salary and typical working conditions. Over the years our protection of rights through the communication and grievance processes have enriched our teaching environment and enhanced our students’ learning opportunities.
Joining HCAFA is a simple matter of filling out a brief form and returning it to Cory Long, the HCAFA membership records person. The membership form is at our website under the “join” tab. With the newest contract that runs from 2023-27, new adjuncts can now join the union. Membership includes that in HCAFA, the Illinois Education Association, and the National Education Association. Dues payment is through payroll deduction during the semester.
